More security and more funding

The Common Road Transport Office is not satisfied with the EU Parliament's latest decision on CO2 targets for new heavy goods vehicles (ITJ Daily 12.04.2024). It regrets the lack of openness for other alternative fuels and calls for more security for the industry.

The association says that the companies concerned require better and more secure framework conditions for the switch to zero-emission vehicles and the ecological transformation of road haulage services. And it adds that the EU must strictly monitor progress in the implementation of these goals in the member states and also provide sufficient funding to support decarbonisation in the road haulage sector.
