More reefers for Zim
The Haifa (Israel)-based carrier Zim is expanding its monitored containers fleet in 2019 by adding advanced Star Cool containers manufactured by MCI.
These reefers have the refrigeration unit integrated into the container box. This design has several advantages, including lower weight and increased capacity, reduced heat leakage and improved overall energy efficiency, resulting in a reduced carbon footprint.
During the current year, Zim will take delivery of 3,000 new units, equipped with ZIM’s so-called Zimonitor tracking technology. 500 of these units will be MCI Star Cool reefers. Delivery is expected between August and September. (kd)
