More Polish trucks on Germany's roads
The vast majority of Germany’s federal states show a decrease in mileage in July 2022 compared to the previous month.
According to the Federal Office for Goods Transport (BAG), of these 13 federal states, nine show a decrease of more than 1.5%. They are all located in the northern half of the country.
The truck toll mileage index also shows a drop of 1.4% in July compared to the previous month. At 1.1%, it is now below the average of the last 24 months. The index is however still above the level before the Covid pandemic.
The mileage share of Polish vehicles on the other hand grew by 2.8% in July compared to July 2019 and now stands at 21.6%. The mileage share of Lithuanian trucks increased from 3.2% to 3.8%. (ben)
