More newbuilds for MSC

As Alphaliner reports, MSC is continuing to increase its fleet. Another round of 20 new containerships has been ordered to be built by shipping company’s partner Jiangsu New Times Shipbuilding. These 200,000 additional teu would boost MSC's maritime capacities to 5 million slots.

In detail, the order is made up of ten 8,100 teu vessels and ten 11,400 teu vessels. All units - hybrids to feature LNG dual-fuel propulsion - are set to be delivered in the course of 2024 and 2025.

According to Alphaliner’s data, MSC's order book comprises currently 111 vessels with a joint capacity of 1.45 million teu. (sh)
