More money for Sennder

The digital road forwarder Sennder, based in Berlin (Germany), raised USD 80 million through the second closing of its series D funding round. Thus the total size of the round, including the first close in January, amounts to USD 240 million. All in all Sennder has raised a total of about USD 350 million, so far. Baillie Gifford, which specialises in technology companies, is amongst the investors.

Since its founding in 2015, Sennder has grown organically and via acquisitions, including, in 2020, takeovers of the digital forwarders Uber Freight Europe and Everoad, and a joint venture with the Italian postal service Poste Italiane. Sennder manages more than 12,500 trucks in Europe, with a staff of 840 people. (sh)
