More "Kars" in Peru
KAR Logistics Perú (KAR Peru), a 50-50 joint venture company of Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, (K Line) and Agencias Universales Perú (Agunsa Peru), has entered into full scale automobile logistics business around Lima, Peru in June 2021.
Expectations for a post-Covid boom in the car consumer trade are high. In order to meet the increasing demand for services associated with the transportation of finished vehicles, KAR Peru now offers logistics services for finished vehicles to importers and dealers.
The cooperation started with the creation of KAR Logistics in 2017. The joint venture partner, the Latin American logistics company Agencias Universales, handles logistics in Chile and neighbouring countries. Now, KAR Peru is the next step.
With this strategy, K Line is further enhancing its automobile logistics business that is already in operation in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Singapore, Australia, Brazil, Mexico and Chile. Most of this business is based on maritime shipments with pure car carrier vessels. (sh)
