More business in Estonia

LDZ Cargo expects to increase its transport volume within Estonia in 2024, having won several public tenders in the country at the end of last year.

In November, the Latvian carrier was awarded a public contract to transport bio-based woodchips of the Estonian state-owned energy company Enefit Power from Valga to Tapa Station, which will then be shipped to a woodchip cogeneration plant. The contract projects a throughput of 100,000 t.

Also at the end of 2023, the LDZ Cargo won another public contract from the same company to carry petroleum obtained from oil shale from Vaivara Station to Muuga Harbour station. These projects will add around 60,000 t to LDZ Cargo’s freight turnover in Estonia. (ben)
