Montreal enhances its equipment
Due to increased container traffic, the port of Montreal is investing into new equipment and infrastructure. MGT have placed an order with Liebherr for four ship-to-shore (STS) container cranes. They will be delivered to the Cast Terminal in the 3rd quarter of 2021.
The four STS cranes will be able to handle the size of container vessels currently visiting the port of Montreal and to handle even larger vessels of up to 21 container rows across the deck. The cranes will have a safe working load of 65 t under twin lift spreader with an outreach of almost 55.40 m, a span of 15.25 m and a backreach of 18.29 m. They feature a curve going gantry system to allow them to move and operate on two interconnected angular berths. (mw)
