MOL: corona case closed
The "Vega Dream", owned and managed by the Japanese Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL), with a crew of twenty members, sailed from the Philippines on 6 November, after completion of vessel sanitisation and crew change.
By 12 October, the capesize bulker had seven crew members onboard who tested positive for Covid-19 at Port Hedland, Western Australia. On 14 October, the vessel sailed from Australia towards the Philippines for crew change following a discussion with related authorities and parties. The vessel arrived in the Philippines on 22 October.
All crew members including the one who disembarked at Port Hedland for isolation have already safely returned to the Philippines. The process was solved flexibly and in accordance with government policies. (cd)
