Mega merger for Cargotec and Konecranes
Cargotec and Konecranes are merging to create a global player in sustainable material flow. The merger is expected to take place by the end of H1/2022. “Today marks a major step forward for our companies,” said selected future company president and CEO Mika Vehviläinen.
The naming and branding of the new business is currently underway. The future company plans combine Cargotec’s Kalmar and Konecranes’ Port Solutions. Cargotec’s current MacGregor business will continue to serve shipbuilders, shipowners and be led by Leif Byström, currently president, MacGregor at Cargotec. (cj)
