Medway: more locomotives for Spain
The Portuguese railfreight operator is adding another eight locomotives to its fleet in Spain to complement the six already operating in this market. Of these eight new locomotives, four are diesel engines of the 333 model equipped with the Spanish ASFA railway safety system, and four are 269 tandem electric locomotives.
The additions to the fleet will help Medway develop new projects and services in Portugal and Spain, the carrier said.
In 2020, the company already launched several Iberian cross-border services, such as the extension of Med Iberia, with direct connections to Barcelona and to train services on the Madrid/Cordoba/Valencia axis. (ben)
