MCT resumes MHT shipping service
Mindanao Container Terminal (MCT), part of International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI), has resumed the Mindanao-Hong Kong-Taiwan (MHT) service by Wan Hai Lines.
The weekly service, connecting Subic, Cebu, and Mindanao to Hong Kong and Taiwan, has returned due to rising market demand and an 18% increase in Mindanao's export volume.
The CEO of MCT, Aurelio Garcia, views this revival as a boost to regional trade connectivity and the Mindanao economy. The reestablished service handled 237 containers, primarily carrying coconut byproducts, falcata lumber, and wastepaper, marking a positive step towards regional economic growth. (pb)
