Matthias Köfler to drive intermodal portfolio
Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has recruited Matthias Köfler to the newly created position of product manager rail Eastern Europe to oversee the further development of rail and intermodal services, especially between Southern and Eastern Europe.
Köfler has many years of experience in European combined transport. For the past ten years, he has been working for the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) in Vienna, where he was most recently headed the Continental division of the ÖBB subsidiary Rail Cargo Group.
At Hellmann, Köfler will launch new intermodal products and strategically develop rail services, particularly in Eastern Europe. As a first step, he plans to establish three block train connections between Germany, Hungary, Turkey, and Slovenia by 2026. (cj)
