Maritime sustainability research centre launched
AD Ports Group has launched the maritime sustainability research centre, Abu Dhabi (MSRCAD), to drive maritime innovation and sustainable growth.
Operated by the Abu Dhabi maritime academy under the maritime Abu Dhabi platform, the non-profit centre aims to bridge the gap between public and private sectors. It will seek funding primarily from private sources to support academic and start-up research, focusing on areas such as marine environment sustainability, AI and robotics, maritime cyber security, big data, and maritime policies.
The centre will also support graduate study programmes, providing opportunities for aspiring maritime professionals. The MSRCAD will invite researchers in the UAE to submit project proposals, fostering collaboration and ensuring cutting-edge research in the maritime industry, AD Ports Group said. (pb)
