Maritime expands in Scotland
DB Cargo UK plans to lease its Mossend EuroTerminal railfreight facility to Maritime Intermodal with effect from 1 October 2021. Maritime Intermodal took over the lease of DB’s intermodal railfreight facilities in Wakefield, West Yorkshire and Trafford Park in Manchester two years ago.
The Lanarkshire depot provides intermodal freight transfer between rail and road and is well-placed at the centre of Scotland's road network, next to the motorway linking Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Since the two company began their collaboration in 2019, the number of services operated by DB on behalf of Maritime Intermodal has doubled from four to eight. (ben)
