Marc Henning to manage central hub at 24plus

Marc Henning has been appointed the new head of 24plus’s central hub in Hauneck (Hesse, Germany). He replaces Steffen Renner, who left the hub operator 24plus hub logistics back at the end of 2018. Henning joins the company from the waste management industry, where he held executive positions – most recently at Remondis – over the last ten years.

Henning reports directly to the company’s managers Peter Baumann and Stefan Rehmet. In the two-tier network of 24plus the central hub is mainly used for managing routes with smaller quantities of freight or backlogs or surplus material. Most of the consignments are carried directly between the partners in the network.

In addition to managing operations, Henning will be involved in the planning of investments. “Currently we are preparing to purchase new scanners; in the medium term, we will have to consider replacing the forklift fleet,” says Marc Henning. Furthermore, Henning and his team have launched an initiative to increase efficiency in order to prepare the hub for rising cargo volumes. (mw)
