Manoeuvring a mobile heart clinic
DHL is working with a German NGO to transport a mobile heart clinic for infants to various destinations globally, the first one being El Salvador.
Kinderherzen, the German organisation behind the mobile heart clinic, is seeking to establish medical support for infants affected by congenital heart diseases worldwide. In a pro bono partnership, DHL Global Forwarding will support the NGO by planning and managing the logistics aspect of the project from its base in Dubai.
Eleven containers with the necessary equipment for the mobile clinic have already been delivered from Bremen, Germany, to the destination in Zacamil, EL Salvador. 15 days after its arrival, the clinic will be operational for surgeries and medical care. It will remain there until May, when it will be relocated to Burundi. (mk)
