MAN starts deliveries of its heavy duty e-trucks

Dräxlmaier, a Leipzig (Germany)-based automotive supplier, has received its very first 40 t MAN truck. The company will use the eTGX vehicle to transport batteries for the Porsche Macan Electric to the Porsche plant in Leipzig, with zero emissions.

Dräxlmaier will not purchase the e-truck itself but commission the transport. The vehicle is being bought by Business Fleet Services (BFS). BFS will rent the truck to Spedition Elflein, which will then operate it for the deliveries.

The distance between the Dräxlmaier location and the customer's plant in Leipzig is about 5 km. The truck transports an average of 15.5 t. Two more vehicles are to follow by the end of the year. (ben)
