Majority stake in MUC cargo handling agent to CHI

CHI Aviation Handling will acquire 74.9% of the shares in Cargogate, a cargo handling provider founded in 1974 and, until now, wholly owned by Munich Airport (MUC), which will retain the remaining 25.1%. After the transaction scheduled for January 2025, subject to regulatory approval, the joint venture will continue to operate under its previous name.

The CHI Group already offers freight forwarding and airline handling as well as other related activities at the airports of Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Hamburg and Amsterdam for internationally operating companies.

Kai Domscheit, managing director of CHI Aviation: "With the JV with one of Europe's major airports we are strengthening the location and the German airfreight market as a whole with our proven scalable processes in the area of cargo handling." (ah)
