Major crane delivery for SCCT
The Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) has reached a key milestone in its expansion project with the arrival of the vessel “Zhenhua 35”, delivering four super post-Panamax quay cranes and six electric rubber-tyred gantry (eRTG) cranes. These state-of-the-art cranes, which can handle heavy lifts and twin containers, mark significant advancements in automation and operational efficiency.
SCCT CEO Keld Mosgaard Christensen highlighted the delivery as a testament to the terminal's commitment to growth and innovation in the global trade landscape.
Project director Pillarisetti Ravindranath underscored the importance of the investment for local and regional economies and the SCCT and its 3,500 employees. This expansion boosts SCCT’s capacity, reinforcing its role as a critical player in facilitating global trade. (pb)
