Maersk makes moves in Mexico

Maersk is looking to benefit from the potential of Tijuana as a key hub for US/Mexico cross-border trade by opening a new 30,000 sqm facility in the city.

The site is located in Prisma XII, Pacifico Industrial Park in Tijuana, Baja California, close to various ports in the Los Angeles and Ensenada areas. It is just 15 km from Otay Commercial Port and 20 km from San Ysidro Commercial Port and has been awarded a Leed Gold certificate for its rooftop solar panels and electric equipment.

From this facility, Maersk can offer sorting, storage, and fulfilment services to companies in the technology, automotive, and retail sectors. It could also provide fulfilment or e-fulfilment operations into the USA under the specific regulations (section 321 shipment type**) for e-commerce shipments. (mk)
