Luxury furniture delivered with green units too
Hypnos Beds, from the UK, has deployed two new Volvo FM electric trucks in its fleet, through its transport and logistics partner DFDS. The new vehicles will replace two diesel vehicles.
The additions are a 4x2 curtainside rigid unit and a 4x2 tractor. They’ll deliver the firm’s range of luxury mattresses and beds to retail outlets, hotels and distribution centres in London and Milton Keynes respectively.
The rigid unit is equipped with five batteries, while the electric tractor boasts the maximum of six. The vehicles will operate from Hypnos Beds’ Princes Risborough factory, where two Volvo-supplied 43 kW AC chargers have been installed to recharge the vehicles overnight. (ben)
