London gateway hub to be storage facility
Swain Group in UK will have access to DP World’s London Gateway freight and logistics hub from now on. Under a recently signed three years contract, the British haulier will use the quayside site for the temporary storage of imported construction materials such as stone and 'next generation' offsite manufacturing.
The distribution facility will deliver significant cost and time savings. Swain Group handles over 100,000 t of building materials a year on ships arriving at London Gateway.
On arrival at the berth, DP World will shunt inbound containers to Swain’s facility, where they will unpacked and temporarily stored before transported to destinations across Britain by Swain's own trucks. (ben)
