Logistics acquisition in Canada
Metro Supply Chain is acquiring the Canadian SCI Group from Canada Post Corporation and Purolator Holdings, thus extending its third-party logistics portfolio. The transaction is scheduled to close in Q1/2024.
The combined entity will be headquartered in Quebec, with regional support offices in the Greater Toronto Area and operations in Canada, the USA and the UK. It is Metro Supply Chain’s tenth acquisition since 2018, the start of the company’s collaboration with CDPQ.
Chris Galindo, president and CEO of SCI, will remain with the combined entity. Metro Supply Chain president and CEO Chris Fenton: “The addition of SCI to the Metro Supply Chain group will offer opportunities to expand our business south of the border.” (mk)
