Lithuanian haulier banks on green power
Iveco has completed the delivery of 65 Iveco S-WAY LNG gas trucks to transport operator Vlantana. The Lithuanian company, which operates 1,650 vehicles in total, is significantly extending its fleet of gas powered trucks with the new vehicles.
The haulier began to convert its fleet to gas-powered trucks early on, before the existence of a network of fuelling stations in the country. It is also planning to invest in a natural gas filling station on its premises near Klaipeda, close to Lithuania’s main motorway. This will be the first such facility in the country.
In a first phase, Vlantana will use the new Iveco S-WAY LNG trucks on European routes where the refuelling network is already in place. (ben)
