Lithuania and Ukraine strengthen logistics ties
LTG Cargo and the Ukrainian metallurgical company Arcelormittal are preparing to organise uninterrupted transports of metal coils from Ukraine to Lithuania, specifically to the LTG Cargo hub in Kaunas.
Arcelormittal recently visited the Lithuanian freight railway (photo) to explore the options and see the Kaunas Palemonas railway station and the Kaunas intermodal terminal.
Arcelormittal hopes that the cooperation will speed up and facilitate deliveries of metal products from Palemonas to partners within Lithuania and other Baltic countries. LTG Cargo is part of Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai and runs branches in Poland (LTG Cargo Polska) and Ukraine (LTG Cargo Ukraine). (ben)
