Lineas banks on European business
Lineas has signed an agreement with Beacon Rail and Ermewa Group on a phased sale-and-leaseback of 109 T77 diesel locomotives over the period 2021-2023 and approximately 4,000 freight wagons in 2021. Lineas will continue to use the assets in its day-to-day business and remain responsible for their maintenance.
The deal allows the Belgian transport company to repay its senior credit lines in full and to build up its financial reserves. This will mobilise additional financial resources to invest in further transformation and for its European growth strategy, Lineas said. (ben)
