
Law firm expands shipping practice
HFW has strengthened its shipping practice by appointing ‘Master Mariner’ Mike Bunton in London.
Bunton brings 20 years of maritime expertise with him, having previously served as head of navigation at the UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency. He also held senior roles at TechnipFMC and Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries.
HFW now has 14 mariners and master mariners in key global regions, working alongside 40 lawyers in the industry’s largest marine casualty practice.
Dominic Johnson, head of admiralty and crisis management, welcomed Bunton, highlighting his expertise in seagoing operations and regulatory matters. Bunton said that he’s “looking forward to supporting clients in navigating evolving risks in shipping.
