Launch of direct Vienna - Trelleborg rail service
Stena Line is augmenting the rail-based logistics services it offers on land. Since May, the ferry operator, in collaboration with RCA and Green Cargo, began offering fixed slots on train ferries to transport direct freight trains from Vienna to Trelleborg (Sweden). The service is initially available twice per week.
Hauling cargo from Italy, Slovenia and Hungary, the RCA train travels more than 1,000 km through Austria and Czechia to the German port of Rostock. There the train is loaded onto Stena Line ferries.
Green Cargo takes over the train in Trelleborg for its onward journey in Scandinavia. The transit time for the journey between Vienna and Trelleborg is 30 hours. (ben)
