Latvian carrier expands to Estonia
LDZ Cargo has received the European safety certificate to carry out transport services in Estonia. The Latvian carrier has also signed an agreement on the use of infrastructure with Estonian railway company Eesti Raudtee. The first cargo transport on Estonian territory was performed last week.
At present, the company has started to ship food oils by rail, with plans to carry about 200,000 t of this product this year. LDZ Cargo is the largest railfreight carrier in the Baltic States and the fifth largest in the European Union. The carrier launched its independent business in 2007. (ben)
