Kloosterboer relies on free riding provided by Kuenz


The Dutch company Kloosterboer in Vlissingen has purchased four Kuenz Freerider cranes that have a high degree of automation. Kloosterboer, a new customer of Kuenz, specialises in logistics services for temperature-controlled food products in western Europe.

 

With more than 700 employees, nine locations in the Netherlands and six abroad, Kloosterboer has more than 4,700,000 cbm of storage capacity with a yearly throughput of 4,500,000 t. The Vlissingen facility has a capacity of 1,700,000 cbm where 200,000 t of food and non-food can be stored.

 

The container terminal has a storage capacity of 5,600 teu incl. more than 1,000 reefer plugs. In addition, Kuenz will deliver three remote desks. The first phase will start by end of September and also involves testing the first crane as well as tasks for remote operation. Phase two will follow up with the delivery of the last three cranes in November 2019 and January 2020. The final hand over is planned for May/June 2020. (kd)
