Kick-off at the tip of the boot
Jonica Airways Cargo, a project that was initiated less than a year ago by Salvatore Veltri, an entrepreneur from Crotone, Calabria, who is active in the fruit and vegetable trade (see ITJ 05-08/2022, p. 18), is moving ahead.
After obtaining all the necessary permits and certifications, Veltri plans to put together the assets of the new cargo airline in the next few days. These include the creation of a logistics facility next to CRV airport, a handling area for agricultural foodstuffs to be transported by air around the world, and a maintenance hangar. ATR 72-600 full-freighter aircraft are to be used on domestic routes. (ah)
