Kerry sets up Meat Lab in Hong Kong
Kerry Logistics and the Sutherland Company, a meat purveyor in Hong Kong and Macau, have founded a new joint venture named Meat Lab, Hong Kong’s first semi-automated meat processing plant.
Meat Lab is unique in Hong Kong in terms of scale and extent of automation, as it features semi-automated production lines in a 2,800 sqm facility with meat processing capacity of 1,500 t per month.
Samuel Lau, Kerry’s deputy MD for integrated logistics, said “Sutherland has been a customer for decades. This collaboration is part of our long-term development strategy to deepen our cold chain business, from upstream meat processing, to F&B trading to logistics and final delivery to end-users." (mw)
