Kalmar’s sustainable reachstacker

At the TOC Europe in Rotterdam (Netherlands) this week, Kalmar, a part of Cargotec, showcased its new sustainability options for its eco-efficient electric reachstacker.

Mette Kjems Bærentzen, head of sustainability: "These new options provide customers with even more ways to address the growing need to cut their carbon footprint with equipment that is not only more sustainable to operate but also constructed in a sustainable manner."

With its partnership with Ssab, Kalmar brings "Ssab Zero" to the cargo and load-handling market. The manufacturer now offers its customers reachstackers constructed with 47% “Ssab Zero”, a near zero-emission steel, recycled and produced using fossil-free electricity and biogas.

The reachstacker's lifting capacities are increased to 45 t, improving the eco-efficiency of cargo-handling operations while allowing customers to maintain high levels of productivity and safety. (lh)
