K Line announces management changes

At a recent board meeting Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) decided to make several promotions, as of 1 April 2019.

The Japanese carrier, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary that month, has organised its future business foundation under the current management to rebuild a stable earnings structure. This includes the establishment of an integrated containership company in addition to priority themes set out in K Line's medium-term management plan "Revival for Greater Strides".

Three employees are to move up the career ladder from the date above. The current chairman, Jiro Asakura, will become a director, chief executive Eizo Murakami will shoulder the role of board chairman and representative director, and senior managing executive officer, Yukikazu Myochin, will become a new representative director, president and CEO.
