Joint effort to ship agricultural goods by rail
The heads of Russian Railways (RZD) and Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) have signed a memorandum of cooperation to organise the transport of agricultural products by rail.
The Agroexpress service specialises in expedited deliveries of agro-industrial and food products in container trains, both between countries and in transit. According to the signed document, it is constantly being improved by expanding the list of routes and the use of modern transportation solutions, including refrigerated containers and flexitanks.
As next steps, the two companies will work out and define the cargo base and establish exact train routes and timetables. (ben)
