Johannes Trost to chair the legal committee
At a meeting on 18 November 2024 at the headquarters of the Association for European Inland Navigation and Waterways (VBW) in the Haus Rhein in Duisburg, the members of the VBW legal committee unanimously elected Johannes Trost (right), of the Hamburg-based law firm Wheelhouse, as their new chairman.
Trost studied law in Bonn and completed his doctorate at the Institute for Inland Navigation Law at the University of Mannheim with a comparative law thesis on freight law in the Danube riparian states. He has been working as a lawyer in inland navigation since 1995, when he and his partner Jan Lüsing founded the law firm “Wheelhouse”, which focuses on shipping.
Trost takes over the chairmanship of the committee from Patrick Schmidt (left), of the law firm NJP Grotstollen in Duisburg, who has chaired the committee for 14 years. (cj)
