Investing millions in Europe and the Middle East

Dubai-based ground-handler Dnata has announced over USD 110 million in new investments, spotlighting major cargo facility launches at the Iata World Cargo Symposium in Dubai, which started today, 15 April.

New centres are set to open this year in the UAE, Iraq and the Netherlands. At Schiphol airport Dnata is developing a fully automated 61,000 sqm hub with advanced handling technologies, capable of processing 850,000 t annually.

In Erbil (pictured) a USD 15 million facility will triple annual capacities to 66,000 t, while Dubai South will see a 57,000 sqm centre handling up to 400,000 t a year. Dnata says the projects focus on automation, visibility, scalability and sustainability, ensuring future-ready operations. Executives will share insights on innovation and digital transformation during key panels at the WCS until Thursday. (ah)
