Intermodal operators demand safeguards
Hupac supports the requests made by several intermodal players in the open letter of 11 March 2020 addressed to Italian and European institutions.
The letter demands to safeguard intermodal transport as a safe and controlled system for the logistics of industrial and basic consumer/medical goods; to guarantee the operation of intermodal terminals; to establish, if necessary, sanitary corridors to protect terminal operation; to ensure central coordination with uniform procedures as well as support and assistance for companies in the sector.
Since the beginning of the coronavirus emergency, Hupac has adopted a series of preventive measures to protect the people, the Swiss intermodal operator said. (ben)
