Intermodal network grows in the east
European Cargo Logistics (ECL) is expanding its "One-Stop-Shop" network. The freight forwarding subsidiary of Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft (LHG) has added Riga (Latvia) as a destination to its portfolio.
In cooperation with Latvian logistics service provider LDZ, ECL offers a block train connection between Liepaja and Riga for various trailer types, including non-craneable trailers and dangerous goods units.
Swedish shipping company Stena Line is ECL’s partner on the sea side. The train connections dovetail with Stena Line's ferry schedules between Lübeck-Travemünde and Liepaja. Timetables and stops can be customised depending on the order volume. (ben)
