Indonesian airport has high hopes in e-commerce

The International Airport West Java (BIJB) welcomes the Indonesian government’s efforts to encourage the creation of a logistics hub for e-commerce at Kertajati Airport (KJT).

The Cargo Kertajati terminal for domestic service providers came on stream this month. It is run by Angkasa Pura Cargo (APK), the state-owned enterprise of Indonesia’s department of transport that is responsible for managing the country’s airports.

In an initial phase, KTJ has a 4,550 sqm terminal at its disposal, with 200,000 sqm of land available for further expansion in the dimension of an “aerocity”, an aerotropolis concept that comprises aviation-dependent businesses and the industrial activities and supply chains that support the airport.
