IDS partner invests in Upper Franconia
Geis Group has opened a new freight forwarding terminal in Ebersdorf near Coburg, Germany, replacing the Lichtenfels site, which the IDS network partner had taken over in April 2019. At over 30 years old and with increasing cargo volumes, the Lichtenfels terminal had reached the end of its capacity.
The new EUR 20 million 44,000 sqm depot has around 6,000 sqm of terminal space, 77 truck loading bays and ten ramp spaces for small trucks and sprinters. It optimises the handling of small consignments and B2C shipments to meet the demands of a steadily growing online business. (ben)
