IDS adds 50th warehouse to its network

IDS’s general cargo network is growing. At the beginning of April, Geis Lichtenfels was the 50th warehouse to join. Since the beginning of 2018, IDS has added six new locations to its map of storage facilities.

With the significant increase of storage space and major investments in infrastructure we have tightened our network. Most importantly, we have created sufficient capacity to provide a high-quality service for the cargo volumes that have been growing steadily over the years," says Michael Bargl, CEO of IDS Logistik.

Shorter distances over the last mile are crucial, since they help deal with the growing expenses that are expected to ensue over the next few years, owing to driver shortages, rising road tolls and fuel costs, traffic bans in the inner cities and delays due to traffic congestion. IDS plans further additions to its network. (mw)
