ICTSI's green pledge for 2050
International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) has committed to net zero greenhouse gas emissions from its direct operations (scope 1) and purchased electricity (scope 2) by 2050. The company aims to reduce these emissions by 26% per container move by 2030, compared to a 2021 baseline.
ICTSI is also assessing its wider value chain emissions (scope 3) and plans to establish an inventory by 2025. The initiative is part of ICTSI's broader strategy to mitigate its environmental impact. It has achieved carbon neutrality in four of its terminals in the Americas and implemented 48 hybrid rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) in various locations. (pb)
