Hutchison Ports ECT adopts shore power system

Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam terminals will be equipped with shore power by 2030, reducing CO2 emissions by around 35,000 t annually. In partnership with Rotterdam Shore Power, the project aims to connect around 5,000 vessels per year, contributing to the port's goal of becoming climate neutral by 2050.

The initiative will also meet European green deal guidelines, enhancing sustainability in the maritime sector. The first ships are expected to use the facilities by 2028. (pb)
