Hungary to receive first Effi Shunter
The Chemical giant Borsod Chem is acquiring Hungary’s first Effi Shunter 1000. With the latest order, Czechian manufacturer CZ Loko has now sold more than 50 series-produced units of this four-axle shunting locomotive.
Borsod Chem, which operates its own internal rail transport, has begun the planned renewal of its locomotive fleet with this purchase. The Effi Shunter 1000 will be used on sidings at the factory site in the town of Kazincbarcika in Northeast Hungary.
For CZ Loko, which has been operating in Hungary since the summer of 2017, Borsod Chem is a completely new customer and the first typical user of a siding there. The Effi Shunter 1000 will also be the first vehicle of this type to be deployed in Hungary. (ben)
