Huey, Dewey and Louie in Dubai
DB Schenker has opened its third renewable-powered hub, DLC 3, in Dubai, following DLC 1 and DLC 2, which came on stream in 2016 and 2019, respectively. With the new facility, the group can now offer a total capacity of 200,000 Euro pallets in UAE.
DLC 3 is a 35,000 sqm warehouse, fully powered with solar energy. It provides warehousing solutions for several industries, including dangerous goods storage and B2C e-commerce delivery services. The solar systems installed at the facility provide the full energy demand of the 74,000 sqm of warehouse space and 5,000 sqm of office buildings, saving 4,000 t of carbon emissions per year.
All three facilities, DLC 1, 2, and 3, are close to Al Maktoum International Airport and Jabel Ali Port. (sh)
