Holger Schmidt heads technical innovations at VTG
Holger Schmidt assumed his new position as VTG’s head of technical innovations on 1 May 2023. He will oversee current and new innovation projects relating to concepts for modular freight wagons, sensor technology and telematics, as well as technical developments for the new energies division.
Schmidt holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering and has more than 25 years of professional experience in transport and railfreight. In his new role, he reports to Niko Davids, head of innovation at VTG.
After working for Siemens and Alstom, Schmidt was most recently head of technical management for freight wagons at DB Cargo. At VTG, Schmidt replaces Hanno Schell, who is taking on new responsibilities within the company. (cj)
