HMM joins the digital coalition
The CEO of the Korean carrier Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), Jae-hoon Bae, has announced that it will join the Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) with CMA CGM, Evergreen, Yang Ming and ZIM as members.
CMA CGM was confirmed as a founding member of DCSA and hence will take a seat on the supervisory board, in addition to A.P. Moller – Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd, MSC and ONE. The application of four other ocean carriers - HMM, Evergreen, Yang Ming and ZIM - for a place on the board is pending regulatory approval.
With nine of the largest container shipping lines in the world from Asia and EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), DCSA represents a substantial part of the industry. (kd)
