Heppner expands in Ruhr region

The French Heppner Group, which was founded in 1925 and specialises, among other things, in cross-border freight transports between France and Germany, has acquired ABC-Logistik, ABC-Warehousing and incharge, a family-run group of companies based in Düsseldorf and Krefeld.

ABC-Logistik, which has been operated by Holger te Heesen since 1997, achieved a turnover of EUR 22 million in 2020 and has 60,000 sqm of warehouse space.

Following the takeover of Hamacher Logistik in 2018 and the strategic partnership with Koch International in early 2021, Heppner is continuing its international growth with this new purchase. 270 new employees will join the company.

With around 400,000 general cargo shipments annually, Heppner handles 30% of its overland transports between France and Germany. It currently has 16 agencies in Germany. (sh)
